Georgia Tech is located in Midtown Atlanta, just off the I-75/I-85 connector highway, about 12 miles north of the airport.
The best ways to get to campus from the Atlanta airport are by taxi, ridesharing services (Uber or Lyft), or MARTA (Atlanta's mass transit system).
Taxi: There is a taxi stand outside of the baggage claim at the airport. Most taxi companies charge a flat, standard rate from the airport to the Midtown area of $32. You may pay a little less or a little more. Please ensure that you are traveling with an authorized taxi company by waiting in line at the taxi stand, and agreeing upon how the fare will be calculated - flat rate or by meter, before putting your luggage inside the car. If you plan to pay by credit card, please let the driver know before starting the trip to verify that they accept credit cards. If you need help, do not hesitate to ask an airport employee; we're known to be polite here in Atlanta!
Ridesharing Services: Ridesharing services, Uber and Lyft, operate in Atlanta. You will need to download these applications to your phone if you would like to use them. Please use these services at your own risk. Always verify the license plate number of the car before getting in to ensure that it is the driver who accepted your ride.
MARTA: Follow the signs from the baggage claim at the airport to the MARTA station. At the station, you will need to purchase a Breeze Card. This is a re-loadable card that you can continue to use to ride the MARTA train and bus system during your time in Atlanta. A one-way fare costs $2.50. As the airport is the final southbound stop, you can only take the MARTA train towards the north, which is the direction you will need to go to reach campus. The two closet stops to campus are "North Avenue" and "Midtown." The Georgia Tech Trolley provides free pickups at the Midtown station.
